Production of the weekly Herald runs to an extremely tight schedule. The system is wholly reliant on a high availability IT system and therefore resilience, security and a robust disaster recovery system are essential.

The departments were separate and had aging equipment. Advertising used Windows PC’s and Windows servers,
Production used Mac’s and Mac servers. Little integration and online redundancy.

New workstations and servers, incorporating a virtualised system into a clustered high availability system, providing integrated
services to all departments.
Outcomes
A new scalable integrated system, providing better ROI. Robust disaster recovery. Should any problems occur, the virtualisation software will automatically move the virtual machine to another host within seconds.
